BMF’s biggest donation ever to local charities

After celebrating its biggest and most successful year, Bures Music Festival is donating over £14,000 to local charities and organisations. St Helena Hospice in Colchester, the Dream Appeal for the Children’s Ward at Colchester Hospital and Ferriers Barn in Bures will all receive generous funds. Bures United Football Club, Noah’s Ark Nursery Group and 1st Bures Guides and Scouts are among a number of smaller organisations also benefiting from Bures Music Festival grants in 2015.

Thanks to record numbers through the gates in July, the festival is increasing its donations to charities to £14,196 – up from last year’s £11,750. Representatives from each charity gathered to receive their cheques and celebrate the success of the festival at the presentation evening held at The Eight Bells in Bures on Thursday 15 October.

Graham Appleton, who collected a cheque for £750 on behalf of the Dream Appeal, commented: ‘Bures Music Festival has made a tremendous difference over the years, helping us provide extra facilities for the children’s ward at Colchester General.’

Why not join us in 2016 and make it our biggest year yet? The dates are set – 6 to 10 July 2016 – so don’t forget to snap up discounted early bird tickets for next year’s festival, our 20th anniversary celebration. Tickets are on sale now at www.buresmusicfestival.com.

A special thank you to the Eight Bells for putting on such a delicious buffet at the presentation night.
