LaVendore Rogue are ready to hit you with their fiery blend of bourbon-soaked, cross-genre rock ’n’ roll. One of the most exciting bands on the roots scene they might hail from nearby Colchester but their sound is straight out of the American deep South. LaVendore Rogue is no traditional Delta blues band. Their blues has a 21st-century edge, fusing a funky groove with lashings of rock ’n’ roll and a dash of voodoo – all delivered with Jojo Burgess’s spine-chilling vocals and Joel Fisk’s tantalising riffs.
The quintet’s in-yer-face delivery was honed by Burgess, Fisk and award-winning drummer Stephen Cutmore in their previous outfit Hokie Joint. After years at the international gig scene’s coal face and a list of awards nominations and wins, the guys decided it was time to reach beyond their blues influences. Out of the Hokie Joint ashes came LaVendore Rogue with the addition of two more musicians – Rob ‘Tank’ Barry on bass and Warren Lynn on keys – lacing the group’s sound with layers of texture and melody.
Since the release of the latest album ‘Light Up With LaVendore Rogue’ the group have caused an international stir. We can’t wait to welcome back this band of road-hardened bluesmen to the BMF big top on Sunday.
