If you haven’t heard of this artist, then you will soon, because Emily Dankworth is a superstar! “Emily’s voice is forged from the DNA of jazz royalty… No surprise that it is gorgeous, smooth, lush… Shall I go on?” said Ralph Salmins. And as one of the music elite’s most sought-after drummers, he knows what he’s talking about.

Emily has an unrivalled heritage that reads like a Who’s Who of jazz: her grandfather, Sir John Dankworth, was the pioneer of modern jazz in the UK, and a leading film composer; her grandmother is acclaimed jazz vocalist Dame Cleo Laine; and her father is award-winning jazz bassist Alec Dankworth. Emily is carrying on the family musical legacy and is now one of London’s top emerging jazz talents.

Emily has performed at The Royal Albert Hall and St Mark’s Basilica and a bunch of other world-famous venues. And now she’s coming to the ‘almost-famous’ BMF jazz stage in St Mary’s Church, accompanied by the Jazznights Trio. We’re feeling pretty lucky.

If you’re into jazz, Thursday night at BMF is absolutely unmissable!
