This lovely weather means we can finally start thinking about summer and, more importantly, BMF2017. We’ve been planning like crazy for our 21st birthday, and we’ve got lots to tell you about.
But first, we’re delighted to announce we are releasing individual event tickets on Saturday 1st April, so if you’re excited about a particular band or bands and don’t want to miss out, snap up these tickets while they’re available. Use the tickets section in the menu to find the tickets you want or click the images below.
Friday Night
There’s lots to look forward to at BMF on Wednesday and Thursday nights, but we’ll let you know about those later. In the meantime, here’s who we’ve got lined up for Friday:
King King
If you like blues/rock, you’ll have heard of King King, and for good reason. This band is our huge Friday night headliner and considered Britain’s best blues band. Henry Yates of Classic Rock Blues, says, “King King are the hottest draw in British blues-rock.”
Danny Bryant
UK blues/rock guitarist Danny Bryant is considered by Classic Rock’s The Blues Magazine as a “National Blues Treasure”, and has worked tirelessly and passionately to earn this title.
Back Porch
This is a crazy semi-acoustic band with a happy take on the blues. They have plectrums, thimbles and harp reeds flying everywhere in a unique variety of foot-stomping acoustic, good-time blues.
Saturday Highlights
Back by popular demand to headline on Saturday night, Rhapsody is one of the most successful known Queen tribute acts. Formed in 2005, Rhapsody has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious events and caused a ticket sell out at BMF in 2012!
ELO Encounter
At BMF to perform the greatest hits of the extraordinary Electric Light Orchestra, ELO Encounter combines lights, projections, lasers and music to provide a fast-paced and exciting show.
Also performing are Broken Eyes and Reno & Rome, plus more acts to be confirmed.
Sunday Highlights
Our unmissable festival finale headliners, Doctor and the Medics have had a long, colourful and successful career. Formed in the 80s, Doctor and the Medics are best known for their massive No. 1 hit “Spirit in the Sky,” which sold over 24 million copies.
Who’s Next
Any fan of The Who is going to need to see Who’s Next – thought to be the closest you’ll get to the real thing. They capture a magical point in time when many believe that The Who were the greatest rock and roll band on earth.
The Committed
Formed in 2005 by Neal Hargreaves, The Committed pay tribute to the soul sounds of the Commitments. They boast a full 10-piece line up with brass section and three female backing vocalists.
Choral & Jazz
We’ll announce more about our full Wednesday and Thursday night line-ups soon, but here’s a little taster. Our choral night features the renowned Edmund Octet, and Jazznights is set to welcome the extraordinary Karen Sharp, Sue Richardson and Lorraine Odell. Keep your eyes peeled for more on these nights.
Camping
As always, feel free to stay overnight in the beautiful Stour Valley at our improved camping field.
Or see it all with our Festival Passes
Can’t decide what acts to see? Why not get a Festival Pass and see it all. Full, five-day festival passes are still available at Tier 1 prices for another month.
That’s all for now, but we’ll be back with more soon. As always, thanks for your support. We hope you agree, Bures Music Festival gets better every year, and we’re looking forward to seeing you for another fantastic event in July.
