Thanks to all the lovely people who attended BMF 2016 we managed to raise more than £12,500 for charity 🙂

We were delighted to distribute all the profits in a presentation ceremony last week.

Among the many recipients were St Helena Hospice in Colchester and St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds, each receiving a cheque for £1,250. George Chilvers, community fundraiser, St Nicholas Hospice Care, said, “One of the vital services the hospice offers is the Nicky’s Way programme. Nicky’s Way helps bereaved children come to terms with the loss of a loved one through one-one counselling and through group work. The grant provided by the Bures Music Festival will make a huge difference to the hospice and could help fund 10 weeks of the Nicky’s Way Programme for one young adult.”

Ferriers Barn day centre, which cares for people with disabilities, received £1,250. And the Dream Appeal, which raises money for seriously ill children at Colchester General Hospital, also received £1,250.

Donations were also presented to Bures School, Noah’s Ark Nursery Group, Bures Tennis Club, the Bures Community Centre, St Mary’s Church, Bures Stage Society, Sudbury’s Kernos Centre, Bures Football Club and many other village clubs and associations.

The festival has now raised £200,000 for local charities since it began in 1997.

Lets do it all again!
