Emerging from the misty shores of Essex and Suffolk, come The Washed Up Folk Band with a simple mission: to revive the soul-stirring tradition of folk story telling through their inspiring new wave folk.

Their sound, a mesmerising fusion of classic folk and avant-garde arrangements, captures the essence of the sea itself. As the chilling winds of change blow ever faster through our modern world, this band offers to transport you back through the stormy seas of time, to a simpler yet harder age. To witness, through vivid portraits, sailors lost to the waves, lovers found and lost, storms weathered and new horizons sought.

With their first album dedicated to songs of the sea, you can sit back, let the salt seep into your pores and the waves wash over you. A listen to their live set, however, reveals that their repertoire covers far more, with the full range of the human experiences through the ages as their subject matter. From the struggles of life and the chilling touch of death through to paganism, spirituality and consciousness; their songs often transcend the traditional.

Get to the BMF Big Top around 1pm on Saturday 12th July to join this seasoned band of troubadours on their epic voyage.
