Jazz fans are in for a treat. Musician and singer Jacqui Hicks proved her worth with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra before joining jazz/funk band Shakatak on world tours and appearing on many of their albums. Hicks has also worked with Latin/pop band Matt Bianco, featured on Paprika Soul’s Into the Light, and released her own album, Spellbound.
Julian Marc Stringle

Once a child prodigy reed player, Julian Marc Stringle has enjoyed an incredible career. He has recorded with the likes of Marc Almond, Joe Brown and Chas & Dave, appeared with Meatloaf and Tina Turner, and achieved ‘Best Clarinettist’ at the British Jazz Awards. He is known amongst jazz aficionados for his soul, original writing and phenomenal techniques.

Singer Larraine Odell began her career with the group CMU and has since performed with Jimpster at Ronnie Scott’s Club, with pianist Steve Lodder and at numerous jazz festivals. Larraine’s CD ‘Portrait’ attracted excellent reviews as did her performance on ‘The Blue Window’ by Beatifik. She also appeared on Jimpster’s ‘Messages From The Hub’.
The Jazznights Trio is formed of Roger Odell, founder member and drummer with Shakatak – the internationally touring and recording jazz-funk group. On bass, Bernie Hodgkins grew up in a jazz-oriented family and has worked with musicians such as Matt Munro and Dickie Valentine. Finally, Simon Brown is a regular pianist at Jazznights and player in residence at the Norwich Jazz Club. Influenced by the great Nat King Cole, his style reflects that of great pianists such as Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea.
