Getting to the Festival

Location

Bures Music Festival takes place on the recreation ground adjacent to the village community centre (Nayland Road, Bures, Suffolk CO8 5BX). It can be reached by rail via Marks Tey on the London-to-Ipswich/Norwich service, or by bus from Colchester, Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds so getting to the Festival couldn’t be easier.

By Bus

Chambers BusChambers Buses are a Suffolk-based bus operator carrying around 1.6 million passengers a year throughout Suffolk and Essex with a fleet of approximately 30 vehicles. By Train

Abellio Greater Anglia provides services on the Gainsborough Line from Sudbury through Bures as well as Chappel & Wakes Colne to connect at Marks Tey to the Mainline from London Liverpool Street to Norwich. You can find the PDF timetable for the Gainsborough Line here.

By Car

Coming from Ipswich, Chelmsford or London (Via A12)

Leave A12 at Junction 26 (Colchester Zoo turn-off) and follow the A1124 towards Halstead. After around 2 miles you will see a petrol station on the left – take the immediately preceding right (Wood Lane) towards Fordham. Follow the road to a Y junction in Wormingford and bear left down Sandy Hill (B1058). This will bring you into Bures with the Festival on your right. Continue into Bures and cross the bridge. Take a right turn at the Church and continue down Nayland Road until you see the festival on your right.

Coming from Colchester (through town)

Follow the signs through the town to join the B1058 through West Bergholt. Follow the road into Wormingford and down Sandy Hill (B1058). This will bring you into Bures with the Festival on your right. Continue into Bures and cross the bridge. Take a right turn at the Church and continue down Nayland Road until you see the festival on your right.

Coming from Sudbury

Leave the town via Cornard Road and follow the road around 6 miles to Bures. Take a left turn just before the Church and continue down Nayland Road until you see the festival on your right.

Accommodation Options

We provide camping facilities on site. You will need to purchase a Camping Pitch that covers a single tent, campervan, motorhome or caravan and is in the adjacent field to the festival. There are no electrical hook-ups at our camping ground. If you would like to camp a little further away you can try the wonderful Little Ropers Woodland Camping or the fantastic Rushbanks Farm (and canoe to the festival along the Stour Valley if it takes your fancy).
